Miho Maeshima was born in Tokyo on July 26, 1986. She reports that her first experience with sex was with her boyfriend in his closet. Autobiography Ai Kurosawa was born in Shiga Prefecture on December 24, 1982. During high school she was very active in volleyball, and her hobbies as an adult include collecting Sanrio's Hello Kitty goods. Kurosawa did not become sexually active at a very early age, later stating, "I was really into volleyball when I was in junior high, so I didn't have time for boys."
Her first sexual encounter was during her first year in high school. She says that her first pleasurable experience with sex came later, however. "When I was seventeen," she says, "I went out with my first guy who was good at sex. He made me think 'this is real sex.'"
Kurosawa dropped out of high school and worked in a variety of service-sector jobs including waitressing at a coffee shop and a sushi bar. When she was first scouted to appear in an Adult Video she was receptive to the idea. Recalling AVs she had seen in her father's collection, she later explained, "I thought some of the girls were so pretty, and I wanted to have pictures of myself taken like that."
Her Debut
Ai Kurosawa made her AV debut with the Alice Japan label in their April 27, 2001 release Scenery of Love aka Love Scene. She played the role of a college girl who moves to Tokyo to be near a man whom she loves. When she learns that he already has a girlfriend, she seduces him. For her appearance in this first video, Kurosawa was described "an innocent cutie pie, who shines like a jewel." Kurosawa says of this first experience in an adult video, "I was really nervous. But it was different than I had imagined... I thought it would be more hard core." Kurosawa's third video, Balloon Breasts was released in June. Her "beautiful F-cup breasts" are highlighted in this video.
They are shown off in various costumes, massaged, and put to work for a paizuri demonstration. This work and her second video were combined on a single DVD entitled Let's Make Love, and released in November of 2001. Kurosawa's fifth video, Dynamite Tits (released October 2001), was made with Cosmos Plan, and was her first video made with a company other than Alice Japan. In June 2001, after the filming of this AV, and after the release of her second video, Kurosawa was interviewed. When asked to comment on her work in the AV industry up to this point, she replied, "It's pretty fun... Sex in the videos is just different than in private.
After all, you usually don't have sex with people watching you." Alice Japan's Costume-Play Doll: Sex Doll In School Uniform released in August of 2001, had Kurosawa playing the role of a spy. By using this story device to put her in various costumes, including a cheerleader and a stuffed animal, the video made use of the popular cosplay genre of adult video in Japan. In January of 2002, Kurosawa co-starred with AV actress Shinohara Makoto in another cosplay video for Alice Japan, Costume Play Maniana 2. Among the costumes she wore in this video were Chinese attire and a military uniform. VIP's Black Love, also from January 2002, was a dramatic mystery involving serial murders in a small village.
In Ai Kurosawa [Animation Costume Play] (March 22, 2002), Kurosawa took the cosplay genre into animation. This VIP production featured Kurosawa having sex while dressed as various anime characters. In September of 2003 Kurosawa co-starred in the Alice Japan video Lesbian Politicians with Japan's first hardcore pornographic actress, Kyoko Aizome, who also directed the film. The similarity between many Japanese adult videos and the documentary film has often been pointed out by critics, and Kurosawa's next video made use of that format. Alice Japan's Bubbly Heaven, from March of 2002, is in the popular soapland sub-genre of these documentary-inspired AVs. The video shows Kurosawa experiencing sexual service from an actor and a professional prostitute.
As Nicholas Bornoff points out, "Sometimes the documentary is faked, predictably with sadistic themes, which nonetheless strive to maintain a spontaneous veneer." Later Kurosawa videos in the mock-documentary genre included VIP's Ai Kurosawa's Sex Training of April 2003, in which she is tortured and forced to obey the video director's every command. Another video in the mock-documentary format was Ai Kurosawa's Hypnotic Fuck from Cosmos Plan. This AV has Kurosawa purportedly hypnotized, after which her "deep sexual desires are revealed."
In February 2003, after having worked with several companies, mostly Alice Japan, Kurosawa released Sexy Pearl, her first video for Atlas21. COS-PARA, of March 2003, was Kurosawa's entry in the company's popular cosplay series. The costumes worn by Kurosawa in this video include that of a waitress and a nurse. Atlas21 combined these two videos onto one DVD entitled Ai Kurosawa FREAK, in May of 2003. Later in 2003, Kurosawa appeared in two multi-actress videos for Atlas21. The theme of Women On Top of August 2003 is explained in the title, and the video featured thirteen AV actresses having sex in the titular position. Erotic Breasts Girls of November, 2003 starred seven AV actresses known for the beauty of their breasts.
In December of 2003, Kurosawa co-starred in TMA The Big and Extreme Breasts Premium II, a similar multi-actress anthology for the TMA label. This video included AV idols Anna Ohura and Kyoko Ayana.
With her "perfectly proportioned body forged from years of volleyball coupled with a G-cup bust," Kurosawa had become one of the most popular and prominent AV actresses of the early 2000s. The AV industry recognized her career on November 26, 2003, when she was given Soft On Demand's award for outstanding actress. Tina Yuzuki (柚木ティナ Yuzuki Tina) is a Japanese AV idol who debuted in 2005 and quickly rose to stardom. Known for her chirpy character and cute antics, she has in a short time become one of the most productive actresses in the Japanese adult video industry.
She appears in videos produced under the Max-A label. After starring in AVs in various genres during her first year in the industry, in December 2006 she was called, "the most talked about actress this year," and the Japanese AV industry named her Best New Actress for 2006.
Anna Ohura was born in Hokkaidō, the northern-most of the four main islands of Japan, on May 30, 1980 to a French father and Japanese mother. Ohura claims that most people think she most closely resembles her father. She says that her grandmother is the person she most respects.
Ohura is left-handed and has poor eyesight, wearing contact lenses. She enjoys drinking, but smokes only occasionally. She likes udon noodles, but dislikes soba noodles. Ohura's favorite subjects in school were social studies and Japanese, while English and mathematics were her worst.
As a child, she wished to become a comic book writer, and she has commented that if she had not gone into the adult entertainment field, she would like to have worked as an assistant to a comic book writer.
Like AV idols Tina Yuzuki and Anna Ohura, Maria Ozawa is of mixed-race parentage. Her mother is Japanese and her father is French-Canadian, which gives her a look that has been described as "a perfect balance of Japanese beauty mixed with a dash of exoticism." Since she attended an international school from primary school to high school, she claims that her English reading and writing ability is better than her Japanese.
Despite her international background, in interviews Ozawa expresses a preference for Asian sexual and romantic partners. While at school, she played hockey every day, and often went to karaoke after class. Her hobbies include cooking, which she is good at, and watching AVs on her flatscreen television set. Ozawa had her first sexual experience at the age of 13, and learned the "48 sexual positions" through a book that she bought herself. She first encountered AVs by watching several tapes that belonged to a friend's brother. Unlike most AV actresses, Ozawa was not scouted. Instead, she was introduced to the AV industry through a friend that was working in AVs. Ozawa was interested in the industry, and researched companies until she found B-open, a model agent which she liked.
She applied for an interview with the company and was accepted. She started modeling as Miyabi for the site Shirouto-Teien.com in June 2005, which resulted in several sets of photographs and two hardcore gonzo videos. She was then signed by the S1, an AV company that produces light hardcore pornography, premiering for them as Maria Ozawa on October 7, 2005 with the video New Face. Ozawa remembers that she was so nervous during the filming of her first AV that she could not look the male actor in the face.
At S1, Ozawa subsequently appeared in one original video per month until February 2007. She has also participated in several S1 compilation videos including the company’s entry in 2006 AV Open, a competition between Japanese pornographic studios that aims deciding which studio can produce the highest selling video. The video that featured Maria Ozawa, among other AV idols Sora Aoi, Yua Aida, Yuma Asami, and Rin Aoki won the first place. Maria Ozawa and S1 parted ways in early 2007.
Along with Rin Suzuka, Reina Matsushima and Rin Aoki, she moved from the safe, but popular S1 to a new startup company, Dasdas (DAS). On April 25, 2007, Dasdas released the first videos of the company, among which is a video featuring Maria Ozawa. Dasdas videos contain scenes of rape, creampie, urolagnia, enema and physical torture, themes not featured in the light hardcore style of her S1 videos. By the end of 2007, she signed (not exclusively) to Attackers' (アタッカーズ), an established AV studio that specialises in thematic rape pornography.
Besides adult videos, she has appeared in V-Cinema films, a photobook and several glamour videos. She has also appeared on Japanese, and in Yokohama hip hop group DS455's music video for the song "Summer Time in the D.S.C.". During a 2007 interview, Ozawa reported that her interest in the AV industry remains high, and her video cabinet contains nothing but AVs. She makes a good living from the industry, living in a mansion (a high-class apartment) with a US$1,682-per-month rent, and earning a minimum of $8,000 per month.
However, while she says that she would quit the industry only if she is forced to do something else, she would try to prevent a friend from beginning work in the AV industry. Ozawa's family and friends are against her chosen profession, in spite of her apparent pride in her work. When she brought several of her videos home to show her parents, they refused to watch them and told her to leave.
Sora Aoi was born November 11, 1983 in Tokyo. As a student she worked at various part-time jobs in the food-service industry, such as pizza parlours, pubs and sushi bars. While in her third year in high school, Aoi was scouted in Shibuya by a talent agency for gravure modelling. When asked how her stage name was chosen, Aoi explained, "My agency asked what color I liked. I said blue ("ao" in Japanese). He also asked what I like in general. I said sky ("Sora" in Japanese). So, he chose Sora Aoi (means "Blue Sky" in Japanese)."
Aoi made her debut as a nude model in November 2001. Her "big eyes[,] cute smile," "young girl's face and... large breasts" quickly made her a popular magazine model. Her bust was at first reported as a metric F-cup, but had become a G-cup within a year of her acting debut.
Aoi made two adult movies, Summer Break and Twinkle Twinkle which were supposedly aired on a subscription porn TV service, although details have not been confirmed yet. She then signed with the Kuki Group-- one of Japan's largest producers of pornography-- which includes the Samantha, and Alice Japan labels.
Liar Game was adapted into a live action series directed by Hiroaki Matsuyama, Ayako Taiboku, and began airing in Japan on April 14, 2007. It featured Erika Toda as Nao Kanzaki, and Shota Matsuda as Shinichi Akiyama. Liar Game was overall 11 episodes long, with its finale 3 hours long, which is a first for a drama series. It has also gained the second highest viewer satisfaction rating, for the season, in an Oricon survery.
Based on the manga series of the same name, Toda Erika plays an honest college student, Kanzaki Nao, who receives a hundred million yen one day, along with a card saying she has been chosen to take part in the "Liar Game". The aim of the game is to trick the other players out of their hundred million dollars. At the end, the winner gets the hundred million and the loser is a hundred million yen in debt. The next day, she receives notification that her opponent is her former teacher, Fujisawa Kazuo. She goes to him, seeking help, but ends up getting tricked into handing her money over. Desperate, she approaches the police for help, but they are unable to do anything. However, she is told of a mastermind swindler, Akiyama Shinichi, who is to be released from jail the next day. Desperate, she goes to him for help.
Plot
Nao Kanzaki, an honest college student, receives 100 million yen (about $1,000,000) one day, along with a card saying that she has been chosen to participate in the "Liar Game". In order to win the game, she must trick other players into giving her their 100 million yen while her opponents are left in debt.
The objective of the first round is to steal the 100 million yen that is issued to her opponent, Kazuo Fujisawa, a former teacher of hers, who easily deceives her, while preventing her opponent from stealing her 100 million yen. Before the round ends, she comes across Shinichi Akiyama, a genius swindler, who helps her to succeed winning the first round. However, after the first round, a second round of Liar Game awaits them.
The second round of the Liar Game is taken place in a mansion. The 22 players who won the first round are given a jewel worth 100 million yen each as "Game Money" as they compete in a game. The 22 players vote either "Yes" or "No" when asked a random question. The minority of the result survives and the majority leaves with a debt, 100 million yen. The final person gets the 2.1 billion yen, 2.2 billion yen minus his or her 100 million yen, as the prize. Akiyama enters (as a substitute for someone who doesn't wish to continue in the game), wins the game, and then decides to split the prize money so that Nao and the people they had teamed up with to win the game could pay their debt. However, after paying off everyone else's debt, Akiyama doesn't have enough money to pay the cost of dropping out himself. He decides to continue playing the Liar Game to find out who is behind it, and then loses all contact with Nao.
A week later, Nao enters the Liar Game Revival Round, for those who lost previous rounds of the Liar Game. She intends to win the Revival Round in order to get the money necessary to pay the cost for Akiyama to drop out.
